Non solo Pompei, l’area vesuviana e napoletana è totalmente costellata da numerosi siti storico-artistici di immensa bellezza e centri urbani ricchi di fascino. Spostandosi verso nord troviamo un complesso archeologico di enorme importanza. Nella città di Torre Annunziata, anch’essa facilmente raggiungibile sia in auto che in treno, infatti si possono raggiungere gli Scavi di Oplonti in cui si trovano i resti dell’antica villa romana di Poppea, grandiosa costruzione residenziale della metà del I secolo a.C. Per finire l’itinerario archeologico bisogna raggiungere, poco distante, la città di Ercolano che ospita anch’essa un’area archeologica di notevole interesse pari a quella di Pompei. Molte delle strutture abitative degli scavi di Ercolano, si trovano in un ottimo stato conservativo ed al loro interno sarà possibile ammirare pitture murarie e mosaici di estrema e raffinata bellezza.
